Peruvian AI technology named innovation of the year in LATAM
PowerCheck was recognized as one of three winning initiatives of the Modo Silver Challenge at the Silver Economy Forum LATAM 2025
In an ecosystem historically dominated by first-world tools, a tool developed in Peru managed to stand out among dozens of innovation projects: PowerCheck was recognized as one of the three winning initiatives of the Modo Silver Challenge at the Silver Economy Forum LATAM 2025, held in Buenos Aires.
Behind that award lies something much deeper than applause: recognition of an idea born in Latin America, for Latin America, that seeks to solve one of the biggest challenges of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem — the lack of strategic validation before launching a business idea.
A Peruvian method now guiding the whole region
PowerCheck was born in Lima, the result of years of fieldwork. Its creator, Guillermo Vargas, a mentor to over 400 projects and founder of BluMarketer, began noticing a common pattern: many entrepreneurs fail not from a lack of talent, but from a lack of method.
That's how a methodology was born that, years later, would become a digital tool powered by artificial intelligence: PowerCheck.
PowerCheck made me refocus some aspects of the project and confirm others. I highly recommend it if what you want is an accurate, fast, and objective validation. — Raúl Vallejos, entrepreneur – Mexico
Today, PowerCheck assesses in minutes whether an idea has a future in the market, with a level of precision hard to find in other tools, and with a perspective specifically trained for realities like those of Peru, Mexico, Chile, or Argentina.
Artificial intelligence from, and for, Latin America
PowerCheck uses five virtual experts (the Gurux) to analyze each project in depth. There are no generic assessments or automated reports: every result is unique, contextual, and actionable.
The analysis seems very good to me and it focuses on the weak points and makes recommendations on how to improve them. Overall I'm impressed by what it does. — José Quirós, entrepreneur – Costa Rica
It really let me reformulate the value proposition based on real findings, which was a key turning point... the whole business model makes a lot more sense now. — Cristina Salazar, designer – Lima
But beyond the technology, what's most surprising is its strategic approach: artificial intelligence doesn't replace human judgment, it complements it. That balance is what has led incubators and accelerators in Peru, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina to already be in talks to integrate this solution into their selection, evaluation, and follow-up processes.
A country starting to become synonymous with innovation
The recognition at SEF 2025 isn't an isolated case, but part of a bigger shift: the rise of tech solutions from emerging countries that understand their own needs and design tools that resonate with their reality.
PowerCheck is proof of that. A tool created in Peru, tested in the field, adopted by incubators, awarded internationally, and most importantly: built with a clear purpose.
It's not just a tool, it's a signal
Amid so many tech promises, PowerCheck doesn't oversell. It assesses with precision, brings clarity, and gives entrepreneurs back something that sometimes gets lost amid so much uncertainty: confidence.
When a Peruvian technology gets recognized as one of the most valuable in the region, it's not just a tool that wins an award. A different way of doing things is being recognized.
A more human, more strategic, and more Latin American way of building a business.
